this picture of my uncle buster (of whom i wrote in a previous post) is from sometime in the early 1940s. i've stared at this picture for so long and i still can't figure out what's going on with his coat and hat, but they look like they were crudely altered to fit him properly. his eyes in particular are very similar to my son olen's eyes, however olen has one eye that looks like his mama's and one like his papa's. you can barely make it out, but he's standing in front of a locomotive and i wouldn't be surprised if it was a new york central engine as this picture was most likely taken around ripley, new york.
