a good look for spring...

a few weeks ago i posted a picture of a worker in overalls, proposing it as a good look for this fall. it was response to this years end of fashion week in new york city, but a while later i realized that all the looks the fashion houses were pimping this fall were for the spring of 2011! funny that nobody called me on that error seeing as i'm such a freak about details.

so here's my look for spring 2011 which is classic 1920's. i don't know who made the sport shirt this guy is wearing, but it is very similar to the one for which harry simons drafted a pattern in his 1918 manual "drafting shirts and undergarments." his overalls have what look to be surcingle style suspender loops but it is really hard to tell for sure. his shoes, however, have got to be keds conquest high tops. the conquest model had a crepe soles and were more popular for daily wear than the comet model. i scanned this to a pretty high resolution so you can see for yourself.

a good look for spring, don't you think?
