i know that it is a bit of a stretch for me to expect anyone to be as excited as i am for this trade card, but please indulge me. a while ago i posted images from a fink's time book and in that post i mentioned that william muir finck got his start in the manufacture of overalls working in his uncle's shop, that uncle being charles fitzsimmons. this card is copyrighted 1882, three years before finck & fitzsimmons found it necessary to relocate to detroit, michigan. it has been difficult for me to find out anything about fitzsimmons, so finding a card with the business' address was pretty exciting. the art on the card is typical of a lot of victorian trade cards, but the information trumps the aesthetics for me on this one.
